LTL Shipping in Saudi Arabia: Pay for the Pallet, Not the Truck

How less-than-truckload (LTL) pallet shipping works in KSA, what a pallet from Riyadh to Jeddah costs, transit times between main and sub stations, and when LTL beats a full truck.

Most businesses do not ship a full truck at a time. They ship two pallets to a distributor in Dammam, five boxes to a branch in Abha, one skid of spare parts to a site in Jubail. Less-than-truckload — LTL — is built for exactly that: your pallets share a line-haul trailer with other shippers, you pay per pallet, and the network handles the sorting between hubs.

What a pallet costs

TQM prices LTL per pallet on a published lane card. Riyadh to Jeddah is from SAR 195.50 per dry pallet, Riyadh to Dammam from SAR 184, Dammam to Jubail from SAR 161. Ambient and chilled pallets carry their own rate because they ride in reefer capacity. Envelopes and boxes are priced the same way — per piece, per lane — so a quote never needs a phone call.

Main stations and sub stations

Riyadh, Jeddah and Dammam are main stations with daily line-haul in every direction: pallets booked today leave tonight and are typically delivered in one to two days. Sub stations — Hail, Tabuk, Najran, Jazan, Al Ula and the rest — are served through the nearest main hub, so allow two to three days. The transit time is shown on your quote before you confirm.

How your pallet moves

Every booking is issued an AWB. The parcel is picked up and inscanned at the origin hub, sorted to its destination hub, outscanned onto a line-haul manifest, inscanned at destination, then sent out for delivery on a manifest with a named vehicle and driver. Each step updates your tracking page, and the shipment closes when it is delivered.

When to switch to FTL

Roughly above ten to twelve pallets on one lane a full truck becomes cheaper than paying per pallet, and it is always faster because there is no sorting. If you are unsure, price both on the portal — it takes a minute each.
